The Lancashire Classic Golf Tour 2019 - Announcement . . . 2017 Captains

Preparations for the 2019 Lancashire Classic have been upset slightly due to other golf events in the Lancashire area, but nothing that will spoil your enjoyment of this hugely popular 4-day golf event.

Next year, not only are St Annes Old Links the Final Qualifying venue for the Open Championships, but they have been chosen to stage Final Qualifying for the British Seniors Open which is taking place down the road at Royal Lytham. Therefore, as a one-off, the Lancashire Classic has been forced to make a temporary change to the quartet of courses, and we are delighted to announce that Clitheroe Golf Club have agreed to step in and host Day-4 of our event.

Clitheroe GC was chosen, in part, due to its proximity to the other three venues, but more importantly because it is a James Braid designed Open Championship qualifying course; Lancashire Classic regulars will not be disappointed. It is also close to the M65 for those golfers wanting to make a speedy getaway on Thursday.

Dates for 2019 will be Monday 8th to Thursday 11th July inclusive, and we are planning to open online entry at 08:00 on Sunday 21st October 2018. Start times will be 08:20 to 15:50 at 10 minute intervals, and the price for a team of four remains at £600.

A handful of Start Times are being reserved for teams who originate from outside of the UK, however it is not possible to reserve times otherwise .

The Lancashire Classic Golf Tour 2018 . . .

The Lancs Classic 2018 was, yet again, a great success. See the 2018 Results Page for all the details, and congratulations go to the winning team NITBY made up of:
   Mark Smith (Regents Park GC),
   Ben Wearden (Moor Allerton GC),
   Dan Burt (Moor Allerton GC),
   John Reed (Preston GC)
They dramatically triumphed after a tie with Pleasington Panthers, the teams only separated using Day 4 play-off criteria, both had a magnificent 335 pts.

See the  Day 4 - Results from St. Annes Old Links on Thurs 12th July.

The 2018 event saw players from around 60 clubs spanning not just this country but the whole of Europe !! Yes we've become an international event with players from as far afield as Italy. Here's hoping they enjoyed it and we look forward to them, and all of you, returning again next year to play these fantastic courses in a competetive yet friendly environment.

The organisers wish to express their gratitiude to the four golf clubs their representatives and members for allowing us to hold the events at their club.

Finally to all players for their support and patience while all aspects of the Tour were arranged, and we hope to see you all again in 2019.
