A message from The Lancashire Classic Golf Tour Organisers

Hi everyone! And with that – it’s over!

Can we first send a huge thank you to all the players for making the 2026 edition what we hope was a great success.

What a week weather-wise, hope you’ve managed to make it through unscathed?!
As you will have noticed this year, there were some new faces in the admin side of things and thank you for your patience in what was the first year of administering the competition for many of us – including me. There may have been some teething problems, but we hope we ironed them out.

A big thanks as always to the teams at Fairhaven, Preston and St Annes Old Links for being such great hosts as always.

The final standings of the Lancs Classic leaderboard are here on the website and have been emailed to the Team Reps.

A huge congratulations to The Early Birds who have claimed top spot this year. A barnstorming Rd.3 at Preston looks like it made the difference.

Prizes, which will be following the same structure as previous years, will be in voucher format for your convenience, and will be mailed out to all those set to receive them.

Congratulations to all those that placed.

We’d love to welcome you all back for the next iteration, so keep an eye out for early-bird access for returning players to guarantee your spot!

If you’ve enjoyed your week, make sure you spread the word when you return to your home clubs – we’d always love to welcome new players to enjoy our corner of the country.

The Lancashire Classic Golf Tour 2026 is ready to begin

The 2026 LCGT is all ready to go details of the Tour are available here on the website within the drop down pages.

See the Tour Info drop down with details on Starting Sheets for each day plus all the instructions about how it all works and what you can win etc. etc.

You will notice that – at the moment – there is no handicap information on the start sheets. To make sure HI’s are as accurate as possible, we will sync with WHS on Sunday 5th July to try and capture as many qualifying scores as we can.
Labels for scorecards will be produced for all 4 days based on your Day 1 HI, with everyone’s Playing Handicaps calculated for all four courses.
White tees across all four days, so warm up those drivers!
As per Terms of Comp, Handicap Limit: 20.0, Handicap Allowance: 90%.
If you are aware of a change to your HI between Sunday and Monday, please let us know so we can adjust accordingly.

In Memory of Andrew Buxton . . .

Affectionately known as Bucko to his friends.

Andy (pictured) was long time supporter and participant in the Lancs Classic, always booked a few teams ino Lancashire Classic Golf Tour from his club - Pleasington GC.
He was also main driver at Pleasington of the GIG (Girls Into Golf), England golf’s programme to get more girls playing golf.

The lads from Pleasington played  in the 2025 LCGT with heavy hearts knowing he would be willing them on and wishing them all the best.

Sadly they obviously missed Bucko and didn't fare as well as previous years when he was playing alongside them.

All round good guy sadly missed by his family, friends and all his playing partners.

The Lancs Classic and all the players plus the wider golfing community send deepest sympathies to all his family and close friends.

Congratulations go to the winning team called The Earlybirds made up of:
    Lewys Staple (Coed-Y-Mwstwr GC),
    Andrew Dunn (Coed-Y-Mwstwr GC),
    Adam Curtin (Pennard GC),
    Michael Wilson (Bransford GC).
They triumphed due to some steady knocks throughout the week and a great score on the Final day to record an impressive 336 pts.

 2025 Tour Report

You really got a treat, and just to emphasize how prestigious our headline course is - in 2022 St Annes Old Links co-hosted the British Amateur Championships with Royal Lytham Golf Club, and  SAOL was one of only four British courses staging final qualifying for that 150th Open Championships.

Here's hoping they and all of you, can return again next year to play these fantastic courses in a competetive yet friendly environment.

Golfers came from all over the UK - The 2025 event saw players from all parts of the of the country. In previous years we had become an International event as teams from Europe competed but since Covid Travel restrictions and concerns not as many have been able to compete - maybe they will in 2026.

If you’ve any other queries please get back to us, though we’d stress that answers to most queries will be on the website or WhatsApp Group.

We look forward to seeing you all in 2026.

There has been a FULL take up of tee-times every year, with players from all over the UK and as mentioned previously, Europe.
All competing to win the Lancs Classic Golf Tour so it's expected you'll need to be quick if you want to join in this well established and great festival of competitive golf next year.
